Our Consulting Approach

Practical Solutions

Organizations face increasingly complex challenges. Whether you're launching a new initiative, strengthening existing programs, pursuing grant funding, or navigating organizational change, lasting success requires more than good ideas, it requires thoughtful planning, practical implementation, and sustainable systems.

Denali Insight partners with organizations to build capacity, strengthen systems, and create meaningful, lasting impact through collaborative consulting tailored to each organization's unique goals and community.

Consulting Continuum

1

Assess

Build a strong foundation for informed decision-making. Every successful initiative begins with understanding your organization and the community you serve. We gather information, engage stakeholders, analyze data, and identify strengths, needs, opportunities, and service gaps to establish a clear foundation for planning and future action.

2

Plan

Transform insight into a clear path forward. Using the information gathered during the assessment phase, we work collaboratively to develop practical strategies that align with your organization's mission, capacity, and vision. Together, we create actionable plans that support meaningful, sustainable change.

3

Implement

Turn plans into meaningful action. Implementation is where ideas become reality. Denali Insight provides customized support to help organizations confidently put strategies into practice through training, technical assistance, leadership consultation, and implementation guidance tailored to your unique goals.

4

Evaluate & Sustain

Measure progress. Strengthen the future. Sustainable change requires continuous learning and improvement. We help organizations evaluate outcomes, measure progress, identify opportunities for growth, and strengthen internal systems that support long-term success. By building organizational capacity and using data to inform decision-making, we help ensure meaningful improvements continue long after our work together.

"Just as every individual has a unique story, every organization has its own culture, strengths, challenges, and vision."

At Denali Insight, meaningful organizational change begins the same way meaningful personal change does, with authentic relationships, honest assessment, and a shared commitment to growth.

We work in person, virtually, and everywhere in between. For organizations serving rural and remote communities, we understand the geography, and the relationships that make this work possible.

In Person  ·  Virtually  ·  Wherever You Are

Partner with us at any stage of the journey.

Every organization is unique, and so is every consulting engagement. Some organizations are just beginning to identify community needs, while others are ready to launch a new initiative, strengthen existing programs, or evaluate long-term outcomes.

Wherever you are in the process, Denali Insight Consulting can partner with your organization to provide the guidance, expertise, and support needed to move your work forward. Whether you need assistance with one phase or comprehensive support throughout the entire continuum, our services are tailored to your organization's goals, priorities, and capacity.

How we got here

Denali Insight Consulting was founded on the belief that the most powerful change in organizations happens the same way it happens in people, through genuine relationship, honest reflection, and steady, purposeful growth.

Rooted in the values of the social work profession and built from years of hands-on experience in behavioral health, education, and community development across rural and frontier Alaska, we were created to give mission-driven organizations access to consulting that truly meets them where they are.

We understand the realities of serving communities in remote and underserved places, the resource constraints, the relationship dynamics, the weight of the work, and the deep commitment of the people doing it.

Proudly based in rural Alaska. Serving organizations everywhere change is needed.

Land Acknowledgement

Denali Insight Consulting is based in Nenana, on the ancestral and present-day homelands of the Lower Tanana Dene people. We honor their enduring relationship with these lands and waters, their continued stewardship, and the strength of their cultures, knowledge, and sovereignty.

As we work alongside organizations and communities throughout Alaska, we recognize and honor the diverse Alaska Native peoples whose homelands we live and work upon. We are committed to carrying this acknowledgment into action through respectful relationships, meaningful listening, community-led work, and continued learning.

Founder & Principal Consultant

Meet the Founder

Magen Spencer, MSW is the founder and owner of Denali Insight Consulting LLC. A lifelong Alaskan, social worker, and consultant, Magen was born and raised in the rural community of Nenana and has chosen to raise her own family in the same community that shaped her. She earned both her Bachelor and Master of Social Work degrees and has dedicated her career to strengthening the systems that support individuals, families, and communities across Alaska.

Throughout her career, Magen has served in a variety of behavioral health leadership and clinical roles, including a Substance Use Disorder Clinician, Children's Mental Health Clinician, and Executive Director of a rural behavioral health organization. Her experience spans direct practice, organizational leadership, community collaboration, and systems development, providing her with a unique understanding of both the challenges organizations face and the people they serve.

As a social worker, Magen approaches consulting much the same way she approaches working with individuals: by building authentic relationships, recognizing strengths, understanding challenges, and partnering with organizations to create meaningful and lasting change. Through Denali Insight Consulting, she helps organizations turn ideas into action while creating environments that are trauma-engaged, culturally responsive, relationship-centered, and emotionally safe. Her work is grounded in the belief that when organizations thrive, so do the individuals, families, and communities they serve.

Magen specializes in trauma-informed systems, organizational and community needs assessments, strategic planning, program development, grant writing, evaluation, policy development, training, and technical assistance. She combines evidence-informed practice with local knowledge and community voices to help organizations develop practical, sustainable solutions that reflect the strengths, values, and goals of the people they serve.

Magen's passion for systems change began by listening to the stories of the people she served. Throughout her career, she witnessed how trauma was not only shaped by life experiences, but also by interactions with systems that were often under-resourced, fragmented, or not designed to meet people's needs. Those stories inspired her to look beyond individual services and ask a different question: How can we build organizations and systems that become part of a person's healing rather than another source of hardship? That question became the foundation of Denali Insight Consulting and continues to guide her work today.

Brianna Ketzler
Brianna Ketzler
Consultant

Brianna Ketzler is a Dene' Athabascan leader, speaker, and advocate dedicated to advancing healing through the integration of Indigenous knowledge, trauma-informed practices, and social-emotional wellbeing. She holds a Bachelor of Social Work and has devoted her career to supporting individuals, families, organizations and communities through culturally grounded approaches that honor both traditional ways of knowing and evidence-informed practice. Raised between two worlds, her own journey through adversity, healing, and cultural reconnection, shaped by relationships with Elders, time on the land, traditional practices, storytelling, subsistence, and ceremony, has become the foundation of her work and her philosophy that healing happens through connection to culture, community, identity, and one another.

Brianna currently serves as Second Chief of the Nenana Native Association, working to strengthen Tribal sovereignty, community wellness, youth engagement, and culturally responsive systems. She also serves as a School-Based Social Worker, leading initiatives that integrate trauma-engaged practices, Indigenous values, social-emotional learning, and restorative approaches into education.

As a presenter, Brianna speaks on topics including Indigenous resilience, historical and intergenerational trauma, cultural responsiveness, trauma-engaged education, social-emotional learning, Tribal sovereignty, mental health, and culture as a protective factor. Her presentations combine research, professional expertise, lived experience, and traditional teachings to create meaningful learning experiences that inspire reflection, action, and lasting change.

Outside of her professional work, Brianna is an accomplished Indigenous artist and beadworker who creates traditional and contemporary beadwork rooted in Dene' culture, believing that beading, storytelling, language, subsistence, and time on the land are powerful pathways for healing, identity, and belonging. Through every role, leader, social worker, cultural practitioner, artist, and mother, she remains committed to helping communities remember that our greatest strength has always been found in our relationships, our cultures, and the wisdom carried by those who came before us.
